To ensure your organization’s success, assess if critical resources align with MVGOs, are used effectively, and provide a competitive edge. Familiarize yourself with resource-based theory and resource dependency theory for insights into resource strength. Evaluate if your organization’s human, financial, technological, and physical resources possess VRIN characteristics. Discuss each resource separately, emphasizing their relevance and integration of VRIN attributes for strategic advantage.
Step 8:
Evaluate the impact of management styles, leadership styles, and governance structures on your organization and its employees. Consider how these factors influence strategy, resource allocation, and competitive advantage. Analyze the relevance of each topic (management and leadership styles and effectiveness, management control systems, organizational leadership, and governance) to your organization, summarizing their application and impact accordingly. Step 9:

Assess your organization’s past attempts to enhance key areas, analyzing their success or failure. If there haven’t been any attempts, identify a key area for improvement and speculate on the potential success or failure based on your organization’s characteristics. Utilize resources on organizational change and learning organizations for additional insights.
Step 11:
Summarize the top 3 to 5 conclusions of your situation audit report in order of priority, each followed by a brief recommendation. These recommendations, when reviewed with senior management, can shape the organization’s future strategic plans and objectives.
