Follow and interview a sports medicine professional (Field Experience). Upon completion of the
interactions, students should submit a paper of 4-6 pages in length. The paper should adequately
describe the person, degree and setting of the field experience; describe the mentor’s training and how
they came to enter into the profession and their professional history; describe the current challenges of
their profession and how they address them in their setting; and describe at least 3 piece of academic or
professional advice for future allied health professionals. The paper should conclude with a 1-2 page
reflection of the experience, including 2-3 refences (AMA or Vancouver format) on how the student
sees themselves in sports medicine after the field experience.
