You will analyze the poem from a broad perspective, interpret the poem more closely with a detailed approach, then compile your views in a coherent essay, making references to information raised in class as well as ideas from previous poems. he essay must make direct (word-for-word) reference to at least two different poems previously discussed in class (see below). These references can be as short as a few words or as long as several lines. Regardless of the length of the references, they must appear in quotation marks and must be followed by MLA-styled parenthetical references to author and page number.
