What you will be doing summarizing the content of the chapter and practicing your research skills. You will be doing that by creating a (mock) annotated bibliography for the content from Chapters 9. An annotated bibliography is just like a regular bibliography for a traditional paper, a list of sources, but for each source you have to include a paragraph explaining what the source is about (a summary). They are typically used in preparation of a paper, you will however be using these “Research Prompts” to show your ability to summarize and research, by creating an annotated bibliography that has two entries. Once for the chapter you were assigned and one for a similar topic you find on your own. Do not use History.com, do not use anything you do not think would be reliable. Please structure it in MLA format.
You must have an entry with a descriiptive paragraph for Chapter 9 and one source you find on your own through research. The one source (primary or secondary) has to relate to the topic covered in Chapter 9. Be sure to include why you feel that source is important to understanding the content covered in this module, in the paragraph descriiption of that source.
Some of the following topics may be what you would like to find more information on. (You are not limited to these suggestions, but they are the most important content from the chapter).
You might want to find a source that focus on the content from Chapter 9:
Agricultural Revolution: During this period, there was an agricultural revolution marked by the adoption of the three-field system, which allowed for more efficient land use and increased food production.
Urbanization and Trade: The High Middle Ages saw the growth of towns and cities as trade and commerce flourished. Guilds and merchant associations played a vital role in regulating trade.
Feudalism and Manorialism: Feudalism remained a dominant social and economic system. Lords granted land (fiefs) to vassals in exchange for loyalty and service. Manorialism, a system of agricultural production, was closely tied to feudalism.
The Church’s Influence: The Catholic Church continued to exert immense influence during this period. Monasticism, the creation of monasteries, and the spread of Christianity were significant aspects of medieval life.
The Crusades: The chapter discusses the series of religious wars known as the Crusades, which were aimed at capturing the Holy Land from Islamic control. The Crusades had far-reaching effects on European society, including increased contact with the East and the exchange of ideas.
Medieval Culture: The High Middle Ages also witnessed the flowering of medieval culture, including the development of universities, the revival of classical learning, and the production of illuminated manuscriipts.
Medieval Women: The role of women in medieval society is explored, including their roles within the family, the church, and the limitations placed on their opportunities.
Medieval Cities and Guilds: The chapter delves into the structure of medieval cities, the emergence of guilds as powerful economic and social institutions, and the role of artisans and craftsmen.
Challenges and Crises: The chapter concludes by discussing the challenges and crises of the High Middle Ages, including population growth, famine, and the impact of the Black Death in the 14th century.

Must have at least 2 reliable sources (please see the attached page On Reliable Sources). You may use our textbook as one of the sources.
Must contain a bibliography that adheres to MLA standard citation
The descriiptive paragraphs found in the annotated bibliography do not have a word count, they should identify why the source is important, why you would use it to express the point you want to express, and any vital information about the source’s origin or author if important. They should be anywhere from 4-6 sentences each, no longer.
A note on Reliable Sources
The following would all, generally, be classified as reliable sources:
Scholarly journals or academic papers
Published books from known publishers
Well-known and trusted newspapers (Clicking here) will bring you to a site that has a list of “Papers of Record,” or generally well-staffed and well-regarded English language papers)
Reputable encyclopedias (While Wikipedia has its purposes as a starting point for knowledge building, please refrain from using it for this assignment)
Well-known or institutionally respected sites
