Here are instructions After reading the article, 1. you will need to write a two-page analysis of the article. This is NOT a summary. APA Style 2. You will explain the author′s thesis. The thesis is the author′s main argument, or what they are trying to convince the reader is true. 3. Next, you will need to describe the author′s methodology. Is the essay social, cultural/religious/intellectual, economic, political/diplomatic, military, or environmental? Some articles may have elements of several methodologies but you should explain which ONE drives the thesis. 4. Lastly, you will explain what evidence the author uses to support his or her thesis. This should be the key primary sources that help the author prove their point. 5. You will need to use cite your information. For the sake of this class, do this by putting the page number in parenthesis at the end of the sentence. 6. Example: An important source that Johnson uses is the Federalist Papers. She points out how the authors of the Federalist Papers describe the role of government in the context of the Enlightenment (p. 231).
