Keep these in mind:
Go from broad to narrow or large to small (cone or inverted pyramid shape).
Provide background
Comment on the knowledge gap
State your hypothesis or question
Describe your approach or plan of attack
Use transition phrases to guide the reader through the narrowing of the topic
Think about what information belongs in the introduction and what might need to be moved to the discussion. Think “Goldilocks,” not too long and not too short for the introduction.
Your introduction should be about 2-3 pages long (double spaced) and approximately 3 paragraphs long.

Provide CSE-formatted citations. Review this if you need but make sure you use proper formatting for your citations!!
