Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 350-500 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.
Assignment Details
In Unit 1, you learned about contracts, which is arguably the most important legal topic for college students to learn. The reason for this is that contracts are everywhere in people’s daily lives. Whether you are a business owner, manager, or frontline employee, you will encounter numerous contracts in all areas of your career. In addition to this, many of your personal life activities, such as eating at a restaurant, grocery shopping, flying on an airplane, buying a new couch, leasing a car, purchasing a cell phone plan, and even getting married, involve the formation of a contract.
Refer to your textbook or Internet resources to refresh your recollection of the definitions of the elements of a contract.
Once you have become familiar with the elements of a contract, think back to a contract that you entered into that was problematic. Then, address the following:
Discuss what the contract was about, briefly identifying and describing each of the six elements of the contract present in the transaction.
Discuss what the problem was and which element in your opinion caused the problem that arose. (If there was a breach of contract, briefly describe it and the ultimate outcome).
Responses to Other Students: Respond to at least 2 of your fellow classmates with at least a 100–200-word reply about their Primary Task Response regarding items you found to be compelling and enlightening. To help you with your discussion, please consider the following questions:
