New teachers often need help with classroom management. Read Chapter 3 of the text, Managing the ClassroomEnvironment from Effective Strategies for Teaching in K-8 Classroom Links to an external site.(Hanson and Moore). In this chapter, the authors present a number of suggestions for teachers for effective classroom management practices that help increase engagement and eliminate misbehaviors.
Create and upload a “Tips for New Teachers” handout appropriate for the grade level/levels that you currently work with using ideas from this chapter or your other readings. This handout could be used as you mentor new teachers or teachers who might be struggling with classroom management.
