Create, Write, Present: You will create a five- to eight-minute multimedia presentation based on the Content Instructions section below. To create your video presentation:First, using the required Week 5: Creating a Climate for Positive Social Change TemplateLinks to an external site., build a visual slide deck presentation. You may also use free creative tools such as PowerPoint, CanvaLinks to an external site., or PreziLinks to an external site. to customize your template, if you wish, as long as you retain the talking points and order provided in the template. Many of these sites enable you to create public files, so be mindful of specific information you choose to communicate.Important: Be sure that your slide deck follows the required order provided in the template and listed in the content instructions, but avoid putting too much text on your slides.
Second, write a script in Word for what you will record for each slide of your presentation.Your script must include all the talking points outlined in the content instructions below.
Your narration should expand on the outlines written on your slides; avoid putting too much text on your slides.

If you also feel comfortable, feel free to use the webcam feature as well. This guide will familiarize you with the tool and review how to upload your video to the classroom.Important: Your presentation must be no shorter than five minutes and no longer than eight minutes.
Fourth, upload your script to Waypoint for grading on the Week 5—Assignment page.
Finally, submit the recording of your presentation to the Week 5—Assignment: Recording Submission page.
Content Instructions:Complete the following:
Slide 1:Identify a current event in the world that might be considered a controversial topic.
Explain the current event to provide some background knowledge.
Slide 2:Explain how the current event could impact students positively or negatively.
Slide 3:Outline the guidelines for creating a safe learning environment that is conducive for having controversial conversations.
Conduct and cite research using at least one scholarly article from the UAGC library or credible website to help you determine the necessary guidelines in creating a safe learning environment that is conducive for having controversial conversations.Consider using “Teaching or Discussing Controversial Topics” when conducting your search.
Slide 4 and 5:Explain why each guideline is necessary for promoting productive conversations about controversial topics.
Cite the evidence of at least one scholarly and or credible source from your research for Slide Three to support your explanation.
