Research Design Project/Research Poster:
This research project will be the culmination of all your work completed throughout the semester. Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to explore the literature and decide on a hypothetical, ethical, and realistic research study you would potentially be interested in conducting. It is recommended to complete all assignments with this final paper in mind as to not duplicate your efforts and to receive feedback throughout the semester on the mini-assignments. This final project has two parts and should include the following:
Part 1: Research Poster (must be submitted as a pdf)
APA Title Line with research project title, name of researcher, university
Introduction/Background: This is an introduction to the research topic, include brief literature support
Problem Statement: Concise sentence that describes the problem
Literature Review: Presents what is known about the topic by summarizing and synthesizing current professional literature from the past 6 years. Older literature can be used as additional support in a historic/seminal manner.
Research Design
Select and specify Qualitative or Quantitative methods to be used in the study
Rationale for selecting this particular research design
Identify variables you are intending to measure
Research Question(s) &/or Hypotheses
Methodology
Participants: Identify population, criteria for selection, sampling procedures, sample size
Measures: Briefly describe how you will measure your identified variables, include validity and reliability information of the scales (use literature to support this)
Data Collection: Discuss how you will administer and examine the survey instrument or interview process
Ethical and/or Multicultural Considerations
Limitations/Delimitations of the Study
References (not all references need to be included (only those cited on the poster need to be included on the poster), these will all be included on the second part of the assignment (see below)
Part 2: Written Assignment (submitted as a word document or pdf)
Abstract in APA: Maximum of 100 words, note key search terms
Summary of the above criteria (Part 1) using the headings
Feel free to copy and paste the above headings and fill-in the pertinent information.
References: Construct a full reference list (in APA style) for your topic of not less than ten references. At least eight of the references must be peer-reviewed journal articles (not websites or books) from the last six years.
Books and other materials may be used for the additional references. These references are part of your research justification.
Appendix: This will include your survey or interview instrument (if available)
