For this paper, you can choose a theme or topic you’re interested in. Ideally, you’ll need to select a topic for your major. Some possibilities include literature, trade, family, marriage, art, science, government, women, medicine, military, shipbuilding, social structure and urban life.

You must use at least three scholarly books, journal articles, and five primary sources for your research. You may use literary websites when researching your paper. However, they do not count towards the mandatory book and journal count. The only exception is an academic journal or primary source in a database, such as JSTOR. Still, having at least those specific sources above and probably some more is essential.
