Qualitative research can explore the experiences, perspectives, behaviors, and beliefs of people and communities in their context. The rich, descriptive data differ from quantitative data and involve different data collection methods. These include collecting data through individual interviews, focus group discussions, case studies, observations, qualitative surveys, and visual/audio/written sources (such as photographs, recordings, diaries). The findings from qualitative research contribute to an insightful understanding of public health issues. This insight is vital to developing programs that can effectively promote health and well-being.

Research question or aims
Are there differences in the kinds of questions that can be asked?
