Work AttitudesIn order to understand people in an organization, leaders must first understand the employee’s attitudes that contribute to or are away from job satisfaction. When individual opinions, beliefs, and feelings about the environment impact job satisfaction, leaders must engage so employees can enhance organizational commitment through trust. Attitudes towards other individuals in the work center impact how happy someone is and how much they trust their leaders. Attitudes confirm an employee’s need to stay in the job or quit. Leaving a job depends on many factors, such as the availability of alternatives in the market, your employability in a different company, and sacrifices you must make while changing jobs. Finally, someone’s attitude may give hints on how an individual may behave that are strongly influenced by situational constraints.
Behaviors at WorkOB has many fields critical to leaders, but they first need to understand why employees behave the way they do. There are four key work behaviors: job performance, organizational citizenship behaviors, absenteeism, and turnover. With an understanding of these behaviors, leaders will be able to provide more clarity about analyzing the behaviors of others in the workplace.
Individual MotivationMotivation inspires employees to achieve their goals, provide amazing service to their customers, and market products effectively. Motivation is the desire to achieve a goal or a certain performance level, leading to goal-directed behavior. When we refer to someone as being motivated, we mean that the person is trying hard to accomplish a certain task. This is critical for leaders to understand and manage the work behavior of their peers, subordinates, and even supervisors. Simply put, motivation leads to employee performance.
