Argumentative Research Paper
Task: Write an argumentative essay that presents an issue, takes a clear position on the issue, and develops an argument to convince the audience that this position is correct. Paper is to include scholarly research that will provide evidence of your claims (requirements below).
Format: Your essay should amount to a minimum of 900-1000 words in MLA (8th edition) format.
Source Requirement: You are required to include a minimum of three scholarly database sources. You may include additional popular sources but these are not required.
Citations: Paper must include correct MLA 8th edition citations, both in-text citations and a Works Cited page, to avoid plagiarism. Plagiarized papers will automatically receive a zero.
Grade: Paper Two is worth 150 points. Will be checked at turn it in.
Paper Guidelines:
•Plagiarized papers may receive a large point deduction or receive a zero. Plagiarism includes inadequate citations, missing citations, copied work, and reused papers.
•Proofread carefully for spelling, punctuation, and mechanical errors.
•Write in a clear and professional tone that is appropriate for a college-level paper. You may not use first-person (stated in rubric).
