Just wanted to clarify a few things about your lab reports since so many of you have been asking about it. The lab report is supposed to have 3 components:
1. Cover letter
This should be your first page and it should be formatted according to the “Sample Cover Letter and Formatting Guide” pdf file that you can find under modules. Note:
the entire report must be formatted according to the pdf file mentioned above, not just the cover letter, so please refer to it as you write your report.
2. Results
All tables and graphs must be computer generated and easy to follow. Must show results clearly for all sections in the “Results” part of your experiment highlighted in your lab manual. Do not put any hand drawings as it makes it look very unprofessional. You may use any computer program that you feel confortable with (Excel, AutoCAD, etc) as long as it is organized and concise.
Don’t forget a table with experimental, theoretical and percent errors if your lab manual asks for it.
3. Conclusion
In this section you will write a brief summary of what you were able to accomplish with this experiment, you will discuss the results and talk about what went right and/or wrong. This section expect you to reflect on the significance of the experiment and write your conclusions from it.
