The sharing of knowledge within a business is an important component to the rollout and use of new information technology. It is important for knowledge sharing to be successful within a team, and new technology serves as a great way to practice and improve the sharing of knowledge. By gathering a group together to discuss new technology, there is ample communication that promotes sharing knowledge among the group. Facilitating a discussion based on new technology and creating a dialogue where questions can be asked will allow knowledge to be shared effectively, thus “Meetings are often essential for knowledge transfer and diffusion” (Barachini et al. 2008). The introduction of new technology will challenge managers and their businesses to improve their knowledge sharing techniques.
Change often can be upsetting for different generations within an organization. Technology is a huge factor that can deteriorate confidence in many employees of an older age group. Ethical challenges are bound to arise from such scenarios, so it is important to empathetic and aware of the roadblocks that older people may encounter with the expansion of the organizations information technology (People, 2023). Training and collaborating as a group is essential to bridging the gap between the varying generations within the organization. Different age groups can work together efficiently with new technology, there just has to be some effort put forth from both sides.
