Using the Grade 5 data and student samples answer the questions below.

1) Describe the learning targets/standards this assessment is meant to address.

2) Describe A) the method of assessment (i.e. selected response, written response, performance task, oral presentation), B) how the assessment was administered (i.e. paper copy in class, digital homework, online software program, etc.) and C) how the assessment was scored (i.e. rubric, checklist, scoring key).

3) Quantify the results (for example, record what percentage of students passed the quiz; describe how well they did on their homework, etc.). You should use scoring method to guide your conversation here. If there was a rubric used, then discuss results and trends based on components of the rubric. If it was selected response, discuss results based on percentage of students who correctly answered each item, and so on.

4) Based on the results of multi-lingual, gifted and talented, and special needs students in the classroom what did you notice about these learners’ results? Did you notice any discrepancies for these groups in comparison to students who are not receiving services? What are the implications based on the results of these groups of students?

5) Describe the implications of the results (in other words, reflect on whether you thought the assessment showed that the students met the standard(s) targeted, or not, and the implications of their success or failure. For example, do you need to reteach anything? Do you need to provide enrichment? If so, what might that look like? Offer ideas, etc.).

6) Discuss this assessment with respect to technology. If it was a technology-based assessment, discuss the extent to which you think technology was appropriate and/or beneficial for this assessment. Did technology offer advantages such as ease of administration, collection and analysis of data, etc. that were helpful? If this was NOT a technology-based assessment, do you think or how do you think technology could have enhanced the assessment experience for students and/or the teacher. Justify your thinking.
