This is the hypothesis:
Based on source credibility research, we have several predictions in this study. First, if
participants read an essay they think was written by an FIU professor, then they will
rate the essay more positively (see it as more persuasive, credible, trustworthy, and
honest but less self-serving, shortsighted, unethical, and naïve) than if the same essay
was attributed to either an FIU student or an AI program like Chat GTP, with no
differences expected between these last two conditions. Second, and similar,
participants will rate the professor author more positively than both the student and
Chat GTP authors, though the student author will be rated as more positively than the
Chat GTP author.
