Overview
After analyzing diverse theories and frameworks related to care and caring, moral and ethical, and interpersonal and families, you will analyze the theories and apply them to your assigned patient. These theories and frameworks may be used to guide, describe, predict, or explain your patient care. In the assigned discussion board, you will share meaningful and relevant theories applicable to your patient care. The topics presented this week are foundational and essential to all nursing practice, so it is a good place to start as you develop your case study.
Analyze your patient assignment and select applicable and relevant theories from your assigned readings to either guide, describe, predict, or explain your patient care. You may choose any theories that seem relevant or meaningful to your assigned patient. This assignment is about exploring theories and their application in your clinical practice.
For this first theory exploration, you will be engaged in
Part 1: Patient Analysis – You will complete a patient analysis using a selected theory from your textbook readings from this week. Due Thursday by 11:59pm
Part 2: Patient Analysis Comparison – You will compare and analyze additional theories to 2 peer patient analyses. Utilize two additional theories (one for each peer response) from this week’s readings to compare and analyze against 2 peer theory concepts discussed in Part 1. Due Sunday by 11:59pm

Part 1:
For the discussions for the rest of the course, you need to locate your assigned patient in the link provided *Patient & Practice Issue Scenarios
Your patient scenario will change with each assignment. You will find your Theory Exploration patient assignment in the link below. All Patient scenarios are linked above in the “Patient & Practice Issue Scenarios.” Match up your assigned number to the scenario number to complete your assignment.

Analyze your patient assignment and select applicable and relevant theories from your assigned readings to either guide, describe, predict, or explain your patient care. You may choose any relevant or meaningful theories for your assigned patient. This assignment is about exploring theories and their application in your clinical practice.
Describe your practice problem from the individual and family Framework perspective. (approx. 1 paragraph)
Choose one theory from each of the week’s assigned chapters. (If you had three assigned chapters you would pick one from each chapter for a total of three theories) Identify and explain each theory or framework. (approx. 1 paragraph to identify and explain the theory)
Apply the theory to your patient to either guide, describe, predict, or explain your patient’s care. (approx. 1 paragraph to explain the application to your patient for each theory)
Requirements
Be sure to use APA format and at least two references for your initial, and peer responses and citations.
The content of your initial post should be approximately 500 to 750 words long.
Part 2: Patient Analysis Comparison Due Sunday at 11:59pm
Complete theory analysis and comparison.
Name two additional theories (one for each peer response) from this week’s readings to compare and analyze against 2 peer theory concepts discussed in Part 1.
Do not re-use theories that you have used in other theory explorations.
Describe the selected comparison theory in your own words. (One paragraph minimum)
Compare and contrast the two ideas, and then apply the new theory to the patient analysis. (One paragraph minimum)
Use APA format and at least two references for each peer response and citation.
