I am excited about the opportunity to participate in the JET Program as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Japan for several reasons. Firstly, my deep passion for Japanese culture has been a driving force in my life since I was a child. Japan’s rich history, art, cuisine, and traditions have always fascinated me, and it has been a lifelong dream to immerse myself in this culture. My visit to Japan in the summer of 2023 only solidified this desire, as I fell in love with the country and its people.
During my visit, I had the chance to interact with local individuals and families, and I was deeply inspired by their warmth, hospitality, and eagerness to learn and communicate in English. This experience made me realize that I wanted to contribute to Japanese society in a meaningful way by helping students improve their English language skills and fostering cultural exchange.
Furthermore, my background in working with children has provided me with valuable experience and skills that I believe will make me an effective ALT. I have always enjoyed working with kids and have held various roles where I have been responsible for their growth and development. Being an ALT will allow me to combine my passion for teaching with my love for Japanese culture, creating a fulfilling and mutually beneficial experience for both myself and the students.
In conclusion, my passion for Japanese culture, my recent visit to Japan, and my desire to work with children make me highly motivated to participate in the JET Program as an ALT. My joy for teaching children as I have been coaching and working with children since I could start working
I find teaching our youth so extremely rewarding as I get to experience first hand their growth in our world, how they adapt to changes and how each child is different from the last. My private lessons are some of the most fulfilling moments, as I get to know my players on a more personal level. I strongly believe that each person learns differently, so I have such a passion to learn about how each of my students learn best that way they all get the most out of their lessons
