Purpose
As the nursing profession continually evolves, practice knowledge is increasing and closing the theory-practice gap. The purpose of this discussion is to explore how nursing theory is used as a framework in nursing research, building the body of professional nursing knowledge. In addition, students will support their discussion by successfully applying academic integrity principles
Instructions
1. Using one of the articles provided in this week’s course announcement, identify the nursing theory used to frame the nursing research.
2. Analyze the selected nursing theory used to guide the research article you selected for the assignment and describe how the nursing theory that was used applies to nursing’s metaparadigm, including each of the following:

o Person
o Health
o Environment
o Nursing
3. Support your summary using one quotation, cited in the APA format for a quote as outlined in the academic integrity presentation in lesson 1.
4. Support your summary using one summary or synthesis statement, cited in the APA format for a summary/synthesis as outlined in the academic integrity presentation in lesson 1.

Instructions Discussion
The week one discussion question asks you to evaluate a research article with a nursing theory as the underpinning.  Use one of the links posted in this discussion thread to a recent research article in your discussion question this week.
We encourage you to read the question carefully to answer all aspects presented. Our interactive discussion addresses the following course outcomes:
·    CO 3. Appraise global healthcare practice problems and DNP practice relevant to advanced nursing practice. (Pos 1, 3, 9).  
·    CO 6. Analyze the concepts and principles used in theory development in nursing. (POs 3, 5, 9)
Please use your writing resources as you construct your posts, such as Grammarly, Chamberlain Guidelines for Professional Writing, and the Turnitin Draft Box. I have also attached professional writing guidelines that should be helpful regarding APA formatting guidelines. Since the discussions are the equivalent of sharing ideas in the classroom, using the first person is permitted and encouraged (I, we, us, etc.). Using the first person is avoided when writing the three papers (weeks 3, 5, and 7).

Last, please include three scholarly sources published within the past five years to support your work. The three sources can be included in any combination of both required posts. Purpose
The purpose of this discussion is to demonstrate your understanding of the characteristics of the DNP-prepared nurse and the skills inherent to your future role as a DNP-prepared nurse. The Global Burden of Disease drives the work of the DNP-prepared nurse as the consummate consumer of research. You will work to find solutions through iterative searching of evidence to address pressing issues.

1. Share your views on the unique characteristics of the DNP-prepared nurse.
2. The Global Burden of Disease and National Practice Problems are the focus of your ongoing work as a DNP-prepared nurse. The National Practice Problems are multifaceted and complex in nature. As you consider one of these complex practice problems, explain which of them would you consider examining and why. Remember to keep a limited scope of a problem you would consider working on with the interprofessional team.
