Leaders use a systems thinking lens to view the parts of a system and consider how they work individually and collectively. Understanding systems is necessary for leading an organization through change. It is more (or less) difficult based on one’s leadership style. However, everyone can develop a leadership philosophy to leverage their strengths. We can also learn to think about systems in ways that enhance our ability to lead during change.

For this assignment, you will develop a 3- to 5-page executive summary of a current public health issue, including a flowchart to show how an effective leader could use systems thinking to respond to the issue.
