Read the translated poetry by Lisa Adams. Choose ONE poem(attached) and write an analysis of it. Your analysis should be between 300-500 words, typed, double-spaced, and follow MLA guidelines. Your analysis should address the following questions in the form of an essay. Due Friday week 1
1. What is the poem about? What is the SUBJECT of the poem?
2. Paraphrase each line or stanza to offer a close reading. What’s going on in the poem?
3. What about the title? How does it connect to the poem?
4. Identify where the author uses FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE. How do these similes, metaphors, and/or personification affect the poem for you as a reader? Why might the author have included them?
5. What is the poem’s tone or attitude towards the subject? Use evidence from the poem to support your claim.
6. Lastly, based on all of this, what does the poem mean to you as a reader? What might it tell you about the indigenous peoples of Texas?
