Providing opportunities for families to be involved in their child’s education is an important part of being an early childhood educator. Collaborating and communicating with families in ways that promote children’s learning and achievement can be achieved in creative ways.

Develop a classroom website for parents and families that promotes a strong home-school connection. Consider the early childhood age/grade level you have chosen and be creative in your design. Include the following topics in your website:
Create a class nickname (e.g., Ms. Tanya’s Tots, Miss Romero’s Ready Readers, or Mrs. D’s Discovery Den) and display it prominently on your website’s homepage.
Write a welcome message to families that incorporates the school or organization’s vision statement and your educational philosophy.
Explain your plan for engaging in regular, two-way communication with parents and families related to their child’s learning.
Explain your policy for returning emails and scheduling calls or conferences, including the time frame for response and daily availability.
Create a calendar example of a typical week that includes the following:
Days of the week
