In your M7 Project Work, you will be sharing a draft of your final education presentation regarding your epidemic-causing infectious microbes so as to receive feedback from your peers at the start of M8. Then after making any needed edits, you will submit your presentation for grading by the end of Module 8.
Step 1: Review the final presentation requirementsDownload final presentation requirements
Remember this is a 5-8 minute multimedia presentation targeted to high school students (and not microbiology professionals).
These are the same requirements that we’ve been sharing since Module 2, so there shouldn’t be any surprises.
Incorporate the work you did for your Module 5, My Life as a Microbe Discussion presentation as you see fit.
Step 2: Post your presentation draft to the forum below.
As a video file attachment or a link.
For uploads, make sure that your file has loaded correctly and can be opened.
For links, make sure the sharing settings are such that your instructor and fellow classmates can access them.
Add any supplemental information such as references and audio transcriipt in a separate Word document. Be sure to include APA-style references for all the sources you used to inform your work.
This assignment is due by 11:59 pm ET on Sunday.
The initial post portion of this assignment is based on submitting a presentation attempt that legitimately seeks to address the requirements. Review the Final Presentation rubric at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Watch and provide feedback on your fellow student’s presentation
Once you submit your presentation draft, you are required to critique at least two of your classmates’ presentations. You will not see other presentations until you post your own reply. Please look for presentations that have not yet received two critiques.
Address the following points in your critique:
Evaluate the audio and video quality, is it clear and visually interesting?
Does the presenter provide facts and data that the audience could understand?
Is there anything you are confused about or think should be clarified and/or elaborated upon?
Is the presentation organized in a logical and easy-to-follow format?
Are the visual aids easy to see and informative?
Overall, what about the presentation would you praise?
What aspects would you recommend the presenter change before submitting this for grading?
Be specific and give details that can be applied to the presentation (e.g., “during the introduction you forgot to give your name.”)
The reply portion of this assignment is based on the quality of the reviews you provide to others. Please review the Video Presentation discussion rubric below.
