Part 1. After you’ve read the “Reading Group Guide” for the novel, write ONE full paragraph in answer to EACH of the following questions (NOTE: this means you will write two paragraphs):
Question #5 in the “Reading Group Questions” (pp. 343-344 in the “Reading Group Guide”).
What lesson(s) did you personally take away from Parable?
As part of your response to question #2, you should compare/contrast the lesson(s) you have taken from the novel to the lessons that Butler herself (in the Reading Group Guide) takes from the novel. How is your experience of the novel similar to hers? How is it different? (If you don’t clearly engage with the Reading Group Guide in answering this question, you will not receive credit for this assignment.) Your response to #2 should be a long paragraph.
