In 2007, Vice President Al Gore shared the Nobel Peace Prize with the IPCC “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.” It is the beginning of the widespread recognition that humans are responsible for a rapid increase in greenhouse gas emissions, directly linked to climate change.
