Goals:
Robert E. Lee once said, “It is well that war is so terrible, for we may grow too fond of it.”
For this assignment, you will take some time to reflect on the harshness of war as viewed so clearly in World War I. The Great War began with people cheering and excited about the adventure, but that jovial atmosphere turned into a bleak one.
You will find images showing the feelings of excitement the Americans experienced when they initially became involved in the Great War and then contrast them with images that illustrate the people’s feelings of devastation caused by the war. You will caption them and explain how they illustrate these contrasting views by using the PowerPoint template below.
