Community means many things to many people and priorities for a community’s health will differ depending on the defined scope of community. Initiatives to create healthy communities often come from the community itself. 1. Applying what you have learned from your assigned reading and other sources, look into your own community and provide an example a health issue and describe community activism around that health issue.
2. If you cannot find an example of community advocacy related to a health issues, what might be an issue you see as worth rallying about? Do you see a role for yourself in that activity? What is it?
