To complete my capstone project paper for Topic 8, I may need to refine the “Proposed Implementation Plan with Outcome Measures” section. The effectiveness of this plan hinges significantly on setting realistic timelines for each phase of the implementation, which is a complex variable within the fast-paced environment of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). It was found that efficient time management focusing on the required course deliverables, and group cohesion led to the most impactful performance variations (Ball et al., 2020). Using this knowledge, we identify future directions supporting the methods for capstone projects. To obtain the necessary information, I plan to conduct a detailed review of recently published articles focusing on similar change implementations within HEMS settings. My goal is to understand the realistic timeframes reported by other HEMS bases when implementing comparable changes. This research will involve searching databases like PubMed and CINAHL using keywords related to emergency services and change management, specifically within the helicopter-based services context. One key area of the Topic 8 assignment that I will need to review and potentially revise is ensuring that the timelines and benchmarks for implementation are both practical and based on empirical evidence. Adjustments may be necessary to accommodate the unique operational dynamics of HEMS.
For peer feedback, I’m seeking insights on the practicality and realism of the timelines and outcome measures I’ve proposed, with a focus on their acceptability, fidelity, and feasibility. These are important as they affect the intervention’s scalability and sustainability (Klaic et al., 2022). Are the goals set too high, or are they not ambitious enough? I’m interested in how these elements could affect the long-term viability and expansion of the intervention in various HEMS settings.
