Please let me know if you have another preferred way to submit your essay.
For the explainer and Works Cited: submit those as documents to this assignment as you usually would submit a document.
(2) Next, you will submit answer to Explain your process.
Answer these questions in a least 1-page.
How do you define your audience?
How does your audience inform your choice of genre and the style you are going for in how you create/deliver your content/essay?
What message about your chosen theme do you want to convey in your writing? What do you want to convince people of or show them about your research topic/theme? In other words, tell me your focus.
How might storytelling play a role in your writing? Think about documentaries–film, podcasts, blogs, zines–and how the creators use storytelling to communicate the information, facts, and their message. It’s easy to infer this from TED Talks, as usually, the speaker uses their story to contextualize their topic and captivate their audience as they communicate their larger, thematic message.
What evidence have you chosen to support your message? How will you introduce and cite your sources so that your source integration flows and feels appropriate for the genre you are using?
What emotions do you want to evoke? How can you evoke these through what you are producing?
How can you convey trustworthiness through the choices you make as you produce your alternative genre essay? What will make the audience believe they should listen to you? How do your personal qualities: voice, style, personality, lens, etc. play a role here? (To me, that last question is my way of reminding you that YOU are captivating.)
What choices about language, tone, writing, and speaking style can best help you to convey the message about your chosen theme to this audience?
If your genre involves non-verbal elements (such as visuals or music), how can these elements enhance the message as you communicate it?
That’s it! To recap, you are submitting a rough draft/rough cut. Check out requirements for how much you should have. Then you are submitting your Explainer document.
