In your discussion post for Week 10, you will be completing an interview of a nursing leader/expert. You want to interview an expert who has extensive experience in dealing with the patients with the disease process you are interested in presenting for your culminating assignment. Conduct a zoom, telephone, or in-person interview (follow COVID-19 protocols) of this nurse expert, making notes for insights to include in your culminating assignment, as needed. Prepare questions (prior to the interview) which you can incorporate in your culminating assignment. Below are some helpful themes:
Learn about how the nurse leader became involved in the clinical setting and discuss the challenges and successes of working with your patient population of your choice; 2 points
Discuss with this nurse leader and learn about the guidelines for managing and treating your chosen patient population; explore what ideas have been implemented in their clinical setting to manage and treat patients in your population of interest. Are the management practices appropriate?Support the proposed management protocols with 1-2 evidence-based practices. 4points
Learn about factors in the work environment that make it difficult or appropriate to manage the disease process in this setting. Are there any modifications or changes you would implement to improve the work environment? Support the modifications with 1-2 evidence-based practices. 4pts
Post your interview in the discussion post for your classmates to comment on, with the following guidelines in mind:
Synthesis, analysis, and integration of ideas from readings. High-level discussion and integration of readings is expected.   Interaction with classmates that builds on ideas of other members and/or respectfully points out strengths/weaknesses of arguments  Correct use of citations and reference list per APA 7th edition guidelines. Turned in by due date listed on course schedule.
