International Organizations Essay
You will study an international organization based in Jacksonville and write an essay about your findings (400-450 words). You will use the arguments in the book chapters, including the chapter on International Organizations, to evaluate the international organization.
There are a few international organizations such as World Affairs Council of Jacksonville, The McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation, Bennie Gaskins Foundation for Impoverished Comm, and UNA-USA Jacksonville Chapter. You are required to visit one of the organizations to find out how their activities shape international developments.
You will have the option to contact the organization staff online to learn about their activities. You will then be required to submit a writing assignment detailing the organization, its mission, its activities. You are also required to write about your impression of the organization and in what ways the organization can become more active to promote international engagement.
You must mention the international organization you explored for this assignment.
You must refer to the staff in the organization you contacted for this assignment. If you do not want to mention the name of the contact, you must mention, at least, the designation of the contact.
You must mention the mode of communication. Did you travel to the organization office or used email or phone call or any other mode of communication?
What was your overall experience while doing this assignment? Did it help widen your understanding of an international organization, and how?
You must use the academic arguments in the book chapter to support your findings.
I will follow the writing assignment grading rubric while grading the essays.
