You have decided to move to another country. You have done a considerable amount of research on many countries, industries, and companies of interest. Now it is time to make your big move, so you start to build a professional portfolio to present to your prospective employer. Elements of the portfolio will include a Written Brief and Presentation (PowerPoint).
For this assignment you will draft your Written Brief. This document should include the following details:
Provide information about you and your interest in working abroad. Share any skills, education, and work experience you believe will benefit this organization, and how you will contribute to the community that will be your new home.(I work at a clinic which requires a lot of customer service communication)
Describe your knowledge of the country, industry, company, and position you are interested in landing. (I would like to work in the Global business marketing)
Discuss why cultural relations and communication are important when working in a foreign country.
Share preparations you understand to be important for your relocation to the new country – passport, air travel, housing, etc. Be as detailed as possible.
Discuss primary language considerations (verbal and nonverbal) and how you will address each.
Describe how you will address cultural differences/culture shock (organizational and cultural).
Provide a conclusion to your brief.
