Scenario: You have decided to follow your dream of working in another country. You have done a considerable amount of research on many countries, industries, and companies of interest. Now it is time to make your big move, so you start to build a professional portfolio to present to your prospective employer. Elements of the portfolio will include a Written Brief and Presentation (PowerPoint).
For this assignment you will draft your Written Brief. This document should include the following details:
Provide information about you and your interest in working abroad. Share any skills, education, and work experience you believe will benefit this organization, and how you will contribute to the community that will be your new home.
Describe your knowledge of the country, industry, company, and position you are interested in landing.
Discuss why cultural relations and communication are important when working in a foreign country.
Share preparations you understand to be important for your relocation to the new country – passport, air travel, housing, etc. Be as detailed as possible.
Discuss primary language considerations (verbal and nonverbal) and how you will address each.
Describe how you will address cultural differences/culture shock (organizational and cultural).
Provide a conclusion to your brief.
