These authors are experts at using descriiption and imagery to tell a story and engage readers. But they aren’t fancy. They aren’t doing any weird tricks with words. They are just going out of their way to describe details. If you do the same, you will take your writing to another level. So as you work on your inquiry-based research project over the next few lessons, think about your use of descriiption in your writing and then take it up a notch.
You have a short assignment today that will help you practice your descriiptive writing of a location. Look at the two images below. Pick one of the images and write a short paragraph. Your paragraph can be the beginning of a story set in this location, OR you can just write descriiptive paragraph with descriiptive details about the photo.
