Hello, I have attached the prompt via screenshots for your viewing and convenience. Should you need to access the universities library database for scholarly resources you can find it here https://libguides.csusb.edu/az.php
Should you need to access my student account you can go to https://www.csusb.edu and click the top right hand corner, click where it says “MyCoyote” and you will then be directed to DUO authentication, and you will “send me a push” (I will receive a notification on my phone and grant you access to my student login account). Honestly, this is an extremely complex and confusing project and I am aware of that…if you feel it would be easier to go into my Canvas through my student account PLEASE DO. The course is SPAN 3900, feel free to look around if you need to to gain a better understanding. I will also attach some supplementary assignments that correlate to this Zine project along with the essays I have done (since we have to include one).
Textbook: Mize, Ronald L. Latina/o Studies. Polity, 2019.
You will create an original zine, either digital or print, with the goal of combining creativity and research. The zine will focus on Latina/o/x culture and serve as a creative portfolio for your best work in the class as well as your personal reflection on course themes. The final version will include:
Original title and overarching theme
Cover page
Table of Contents
Minimum of (2) revised essays and (5) elements based on blog posts.
3 scholarly sources incorporated within the body of the zine (in-text citations) and in a works cited list (MLA formatting). The textbook is required and counts as one of your scholarly sources.
Works Cited List: Any sources used (including images) must be cited both within the text in the zine and in a works cited list at the end (MLA formatting).
You are encouraged to add other elements including text and images in the zines.
Format and word count: The final version must be in pdf format and include at least 750 original words of text (not counting paraphrasing and citations) and incorporate visual elements to engage the reader. You are encouraged to be creative and tap into your own interests, skills, and resources. Please make your pages 8.5”x11″ and portrait mode (not landscape like traditional PowerPoint slides, for example), so that when uploaded into a flip book site such as heyzine.com, it will be readable. You can do this in PowerPoint, for example, but you’ll have to adjust the slide size. Select the “Design” tab, select “Slide Size,” then click “Custom Slide Size.”
