Your first submission to the weekly DQ is what you are graded on for the initial rubric criteria.
Look at the rubric criteria. Be sure to address every topic mentioned in the DQ prompt. The use of headings is encouraged to provide clarity to your writing.
Additions you make to your first post are not graded. For example, if you leave off the reference list and then submit the reference list later, the reference list is considered “omitted” and your grade will reflect this omission.
To get all the points awarded for “Peer Posts”, you must answer your instructor if they have asked you a question.
You will find a document, “Tips for Successful DQ Writing” in the Students Resources section of the course with more detailed information on successful writing of a DQ, using the following path:
“Modules”>”Students Resources”>”Tips for Successful DQ Writing”
Approximate time to Completion: 4 hours
Initial Post Criteria: To better understand the terms used in Nursing Informatics, we need to define a few terms and evaluate their use.
1. Review the MSN DQ Grading Rubric (attached)
2. Define Nursing Informatics, Nursing Science, Cognitive Science, and the Foundation of Knowledge Model.
3. After defining the terms, think about and identify popular media, TV shows, or movies that include a practicing nurse.
Discuss the nurse’s role in nursing science, cognitive sciences, and nursing informatics.
Was the essence of nursing accurately captured? Was there evidence of using the Foundation of Knowledge model components in the practice scenario?
4. Provide an example from your daily practice in which the Foundation of Knowledge model is apparent.
5. No more than 5% of the post’s total word count consists of direct quotes, and all work not cited is original.
6. Review tips for successful DQ writing (attached)
