1. Explain Weber’s different types of “social action” and his concept of “rationalization.” In our society today, what evidence of rationalization processes do you find? If Weber were alive today, would he be less pessimistic than he was at the turn of the twentieth century when he argued that rationalization and bureaucratization lead to “disenchantment”?
