Business Plan
Begin typing your introduction here. The introduction has no heading beyond that of the repeated title at the top of the page. Make sure all paragraphs are indented and contain at least three sentences. The introduction should simply state something about this paper serving as the executive summary of a business plan for (insert what your planning). This should be brief and only one paragraph in length.
Executive Summary
The Executive Summary is an overview of your business including the problem you think you aim to solve, why your solution is different, your ideal customer, and the expected results. You should provide a high-level and optimistic descriiption of your proposed company, and introduce the headings to be discussed below.
Opportunity
This should essentially provide information of what problem you’re going to solve, including any data that supports that the problem exists. Remember, at least one paragraph in length. And, three sentences minimum per paragraph.
Mission
In this section, identify what the company aims to do for customers, employees and owners. Again, at least one paragraph in length. This may include a mission statement created for the business, but should not be the only content of the paragraph.
Your Solution
How will your business be different? Why will clients want to use your services rather than the services of someone else? Again, a minimum of one paragraph.
Services Provided
Discuss the specific services you plan to provide. This may be provided in a bulleted or seriated list. Don’t just list the services, though. Provide at least an introduction sentence to a list.
Principal Movers
This section should provide a descriiption of the principal movers who are starting the business. This should include their relevant experience and skills. Provide an introduction, then perhaps one paragraph per individual or discipline.
Market Focus
What market and ideal customers will you target? Discuss the market demographic in the area, using some statistics and data you find in your research of the area/population. Is this market addressed by any other entity that provides a similar service?
Plan for Management of Operations
This section should provide a plan for how you would manage the day-to-day operations of the business. Don’t provide too much detail here regarding specifics, but provide enough for the reader to understand who would be running each aspect of the business.
Potential Problems and Critical Risks
What potential problems do you anticipate in developing this business? The financial aspects of starting a business have purposefully been kept out of this assignment. It’s not necessary to discuss any income/expense expectations or investment needs. Discuss other problems and risks that may be associated with the geographic or demographic area. If there are specific reimbursement risks with the population you plan to serve, do include a discussion of these.
Anticipatorily Addressing Structural Racism
There should be a brief introduction (at least three sentences) describing how you are proactively planning to address any structural racism that may occur within your business. Please refer to the five domains of the SMART assessment tool described in Talley et al. (2021) as you discuss the sections below. It would be appropriate to describe how you would modify the SMART assessment tool, provided in the Self-Study Assignments area of Blackboard, to your proposed business.

Domain 2: Clinical Care
Address how you will prevent structural racism in your business in regards to this domain. Include any clinical care components specific to your business. For instance, Talley et al. (2021) described racial disparities related to involuntary commitment. This is very specific to mental health practice. What might your business look at to address this domain?
Domain 3: Workplace Culture
Address how you will prevent structural racism in your business in regards to this domain.
Domain 4: Community Advocacy
Address how you will prevent structural racism in your business in regards to this domain. How can your business collaborate with the community as an advocate?
Domain 5: Population Health Outcomes/Evaluation
Address how you will evaluate in regards to population health outcomes. For instance, Talley et al. (2021) described tracking disparities in health outcomes. Provide an example of one or two specific measures your business could evaluate in order to do this.
Summary
Provide a succinct, closing paragraph that will close the document leaving the reader with a positive, affirming view of the business you are proposing. Do not add any additional information in the summary that has not already been discussed. Again, this should be a minimum of three sentences in length.
