Write a fictional short story 2000 words about a discovery of a hidden love story set in the midst of World War II. In an attic, a young girl finds a collection of weathered love letters exchanged between a man 22 years old and a woman 21 years old. The story unfolds during the Christmas of 1943 when they first meet. Through the letters, the reader is transported into the intimate moments of their romance, filled with shared laughter, heartfelt conversations, and the promise of a future together. However the man has to go to war and he later finds out that the love of his life married another man. The message I am trying to convey is the unpredictability of life and the consequences of making promises that circumstances might not allow us to keep and that we shouldn’t make promises we can’t keep.
In the beginning of the story, write a written letter between the man and woman. As if it was a real letter between the two, then write the story.
