This story is found in Portable literature ninth edition.
Essay topic: Do you see A Doll House as primarily about the struggle between the needs of the individual and the needs of society or about the conflict between women’s roles in the family and in the larger society? Explain in detail, and quote from the play to support your thesis.
Requirments: All essays should be 800-1000 words; at least 5 paragraphs, all of which are approximately the same length; have a clear and specific thesis statement within a fully developed introduction; have specific and relevant details which demonstrate and prove the thesis statement; an absence of grammar and sentence errors (proofreading/editing is a MUST–no exceptions); correct format (MLA–see pages 21-30 in your textbook). It should also be noted that you will often need to quote from text to support your assertions or examples. I will be expecting to see a minimum of 3 quotes in each essay. There are sample student essays on pages 21-23 (short story), pages 24-26 (poetry) and pages 27-30 (drama). They will show you how to use quotes and document them correctly.
