This is the place for you to submit your own Catalogue of your own Images of Islam, according to the guidelines of this assignment. This can be in any format you prefer (a Word document, a series of posters, a booklet, whatever format appeals to you, to have something you can keep), as long as it includes all of the terms for you to illustrate with photographs, and as long as each of those is accompanied by a map that locates each of your selections on a map (only to the country of origin, not a specific city). For this assignment, my goals are for you to both find and gather photographs of Islamic art and architecture that are beautiful and compelling to you, for you to have something to take away from this course that you may want to share with others; and for you, in the process, to be able to develop literacy with the characteristics and styles of architecture and art from various countries in the Islamic world (of those areas covered in this class). I encourage you to collect, jot down identifying information, and take notes throughout the semester about works of art or architecture that you like and might want to use for your Catalogue assignment, so you can follow a path of your own interests and be prepared to learn more about that which interests you most.
