The purpose of the Assignment is to explore the world of GPS, how it is being integrated into GIS and how this integration is being utilized by law enforcement. With this assignment you will provide some definition and current state of GPS/GIS use in law enforcement. This will set the groundwork for the final part of the assignment which is to propose new approaches for the use of GPS/GIS by law enforcement. This assignment will be 5 pages in length with a title page and references extra. . This will provide you with plenty of time to complete. Part 1: Definition and Scope For the first part of this assignment provide a discussion on GPS and GIS, that first, defines the technologies and second, describes how they are currently being used by law enforcement. The list is quite long, such as tracking patrol cars, providing location while patrolling, having a incarcerated individual where a tracking bracelet. Each of these utilizes the GPS for location and the GIS for providing a visual display of the location.
