So, a critical part of being ethically competent is understanding the meaning and implications of what we see happening, including the gaps in our own knowledge and ethical skills and thinking. Recognizing and identifying the situation and, more importantly the gaps in our own training and knowledge is a critical part of professional ethical competency.
