Students will identify a healthcare professional who works or volunteers in the same rural
community used in the windshield/walking survey. This project will help students learn from
health care professionals who work in rural areas, understanding some of the challenges and
resources rural health workers experience. After interviewing the subject, students should write a
one-to-two-page (1-2) page paper discussing the:
(a) organization (goal, mission, services, etc.)
(b) interview with healthcare professional, including different aspects from the rural healthcare
professionals’ perspective. Your interview may focus on any one or a combination of various
healthcare factors: barriers to care, recruitment/retention issues, patient workload, telemedicine,
strategies to support rural healthcare professionals, funding for rural clinics or federally qualified
health centers (FQHC), strategies to support patients in rural areas, possible legislative actions to
help rural health, health insurance, rural health policy, or various social determinants of health in
the rural area (socioeconomic status, transportation, food availability, LGBTQ+, minorities, elderly, employment challenges, etc.). The goal of this assignment is to better understand the challenges and opportunities rural health care workers face in their environment and/or experiences with patients from rural areas.
I have not conducted an interview, this interview will have to be falsified essentially with both questions and answers (at least 10 questions)
