Social Determinants of Health Synthesis Paper
This is an individual assignment worth 35 points
Select one social determinant of health and prepare a 5 page APA style paper that explores the social determinant in-depth and provides suggestions for nurse-sensitive interventions associated with the social determinant.
For example, a student may select an environmental determinant and focus the paper on the negative health impacts resulting from lead paint in the home. The student would describe the determinant in-depth using peer-reviewed research articles, and then propose an intervention designed to mitigate the social determinant. This intervention should be evidence-based and supported by the literature. Or, suggest a new intervention that either has not been researched or has not yet been implemented, which is reasonable to implement, based on evidence. (In other words, identify a problem by doing a literature review to identify a social determinant of health issue that interests you, and write a paper about this issue and how you would solve it using the literature.)
The paper should be typed, double spaced, and follow the 7th edition of American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines.

References are considered a necessary part of this paper. There should be a minimum of four Journal Articles included in your references listed. The references you use must be documented appropriately, whether paraphrased or quoted, and included in the reference list. References should be included on the reference page only if cited in the paper. You are expected to utilize journal article references other than your textbook, lecture notes and agency materials. Material obtained from the WEB also must be cited appropriately (Note: only use domain names ending with – .edu, .org or .gov) Reference must be relevant to the problem area identified.
