Respond to one (1) of the following prompts in an essay of not less than 2 nor more than 3 pages, submitted in a Word document. Your essay should be double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, and follow all appropriate rules of grammar. Your essay should identify the issues raised by the prompt and respond to them in a coherent argument using your readings of class material and our in-class discussions. These essays ARE NOT research essays NOR are they invitations to memorize and regurgitate your notes. You will be graded on how well YOU pull the material together in your essays. USE SPECIFIC EVIDENCE (a phrase or brief sentence is okay; NO BLOCK QUOTES!) and make sure to indicate which prompt you are using. REMEMBER: the minimum requirements of your essay is that it should make the Buddha smile and the angels weep with joy.
