I have the research question (determinants of homicide rates in USA) now I have to do a literature review of 10 peer reviewed journal articles, and the articles need to talk about the different determinants, like income inequality, wages, education level, unemployment, etc.
So then panel data needs to be gathered on the different determinants, then run a regression, so we can see its effect on homicide rates, and needs to have specific tables from stata.
The panel data should be gathered from databases like the World Bank, and should be excel sheets, stata or csv.
I need to think of + include as many determinants as possible from the literature review into the regression so that the result comes out accurate (no omitted variable bias).
The empirical project should be a maximum of 10 pages in total (not including the title page, bibliography and up to two pages of tables and/or graphs). There is no minimum page. The project must be word processed and double spaced using 12 point font and margins of at least an inch at top/bottom/left/right. Projects which violate these constraints will be penalized by 5 points.
