Please not write professionally because i don’t know that much English ( thank you ) Purpose of this Mini Task 2: To help us fulfill PCC’s SLO #2 and #4 as we being the multi-step Research Essay Project: #2 – Select, evaluate, interpret, and synthesize sources in the service of an argument. #4 – Use effective strategies for pre-writing, composing, and revising of essays. “Happiness and Horror Movies” sample–> Here is a Sample Research Proposal (use sample as a model, but don’t copy any of it exactly 🙂 Instructions: Choose your general topic of “happiness,” “positive psychology,” or “emotional intelligence” and (((Choose HAPPINESS)))) combine it with an entry point of your own on an unrelated interest that’s important to you–the research will help you form an argument as you combine the two topics. ((((((( Happiness and Car Maintenance or Modifications. )))))) (((please write for this ))) Then, write a 2-page research proposal–four paragraphs (typed in MLA format) that respond to the questions in all four • bulleted points at the bottom of the page (I have standardized them here!). See the Student Sample Research Proposal (linked above). Answer and use all of the questions in each of the four areas to guide you. I include this other link to a current site, UCLA’s version of the instructions for a Research ProposalLinks to an external site., too, so you can see how standard these questions are. 🙂 Writing Your Research Proposal (Updated) All research starts with a question–and in our class, that question will combine two topics–one will be happiness, positive psychology, or emotional intelligence–and the other will be your individual (but unrelated) specific interest or activity that means a lot to you and that you would like to know even more about. The purpose of a research proposal is to think about what roadblocks you might encounter when combining your topics and what points your essay will be able to make that carry the research forward, even a little bit, to make a new point for your readers. Remember, you are the one doing the research–and research is like a journey–no two journeys are the same, and it’s good to have goals and a plan! 🙂 After you submit your research proposal, you will receive feedback to help you find ideas and data that you might not be aware of or that you might find surprising, and these can help you build your argument about your two topics, just the way the student who wrote the essay about “Happiness and Horror Movies” has done. Here are the four bulleted areas to cover in your four paragraphs–use the sample (linked above) as a guide. What research question do you want to ask to begin combining these two topics? In what ways do you think this question could be important? And what areas do you want to learn more about? What has impressed you so far about the main topic you have chosen and that we have been reading and watching videos about this semester? And how do you think your own interest (called your personal entry point) will offer new counterpoints to consider? What methods (PCC Library search, online search?) do you plan to use to fulfill the number and types of required articles, videos, e-book(s), etc.? Which of your sources have you found most helpful and understandable so far? What difficulties do you think you might encounter as you form your argument, if any, and how do you plan to use the PCC Library, Ms. Wilson’s Inbox and office hours, etc, to help overcome them? Be sure to read the Mini Task 2 Scoring Rubric below before submitting this assignment. 1. This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeTwo pages typed in MLA Format, presented in four paragraphs.
